SureFood ® ANIMAL ID 4plex Beef/Horse/Pork+IAAC

Intended use:

The multiplex real-time PCR test detects beef (Bos taurus), horse (Equus caballus) and pork (Sus scrofa) DNA. Each reaction contains an internal amplification control and an internal detection assay for vertebrates DNA (IAAC).

• Test format: 100 reactions


• Sample preparation: For DNA-preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Basic and for highly processed food and feed the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced is recommended.


• LOD (Detection limit): The SureFood® ANIMAL ID 4plex Beef/Horse/Pork+IAAC real-time PCR is developed so that bovine DNA is detectable from 0.1 %, horse DNA from 0.1 % and pig DNA from 0.5 % relative amount in a muscle meat mixture. The assay limit of detection depends on sample matrix, processing grade, DNA preparation and DNA content.

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be used with established real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of four fluorescence emissions at 522 nm, 553 nm, 610 nm and 670 nm (FAM, VIC, ROX and Cy5) at the same time. The technical validation of instruments was performed on Roche LightCycler® 480 II/Roche cobas z 480 Analyzer, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, Applied Biosystems 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96, BMS MIC, Agilent Mx3005P and Agilent AriaDx.   For the use of the Roche LightCycler® 480 II a Color Compensation is necessary. The SureCC Color Compensation Kit I (Art. No. F4009) must be used for the color compensation of such devices.
