SureFood® ANIMAL ID Horse IAAC (en)

Intended use:

The test detects horse DNA (Equua caballus). Each reaction contains an internal amplification control and an internal detection assay for vertebrates DNA (IAAC).

• Test format: 100 reactions


• Sample preparation: For DNA-preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Basic and for highly processed food and feed the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced is recommended.


• LOD (Detection limit): The SureFood® ANIMAL ID Horse IAAC real-time PCR is developed for the detection of horse DNA in muscle meat mixture at a relative amount of 0.1 %. The assay limit of detection depends on sample matrix, processing grade, DNA preparation and DNA content.

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of two fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM and VIC/HEX at the same time. The technical verification of instruments was performed on Agilent Mx3005P, Roche LightCycler® 2.0,Roche LightCycler® 480 II, Roche cobas® z 480 Analyzer, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, Applied Biosystems 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96 and LTF MyGo Pro.
