SureFood® ALLERGEN Molluscs

Intended use:

The SureFood® ALLERGEN Molluscs is a real-time PCR for the direct, qualitative and / or quantitative detection of specific molluscs (mollusca) DNA sequences according to directive (EC) 1169/2011 in food. The molluscs family contains 50,000 – 60,000 species. Due to the large number of different species a practical verification of all is impossible. • Test format: 100 reactions


• Sample preparation: For DNA-preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced (Art. No. S1053), protocol 1 or SureFast® Mag PREP Food (Art. No. F1060) is recommended.


• LOD (Detection limit): The SureFood® ALLERGEN Molluscs PCR has a limit of detection of = 0.4 mg / kg using SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1.


• LOQ (Limit of quantification): The limit of quantification is 1 mg / kg using SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1.

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of two fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM and VIC/HEX at the same time. The technical verification of instruments was performed on Agilent AriaDx, Bio-Rad CFX96 Dx, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, R-Biopharm RIDA®CYCLER, und Roche LightCycler® 480 II.
