Intended use:

The SureFood® ALLERGEN Insects is a real-time PCR for the direct, qualitative detection of specific insects (Insecta) DNA sequences.

• Test format: 100 reactions


• Sample preparation: For DNA preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced (Art. No. S1053), protocol 1 or SureFast® Mag PREP Food (Art. No. F1060) is recommended.


• LOD (Detection limit): The SureFood® ALLERGEN Insects PCR has a limit of detection of = 1 mg / kg using SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1.


• Cross reactivity:

  Cross reactivity was observed with DNA extracts from arachnids with 100 %.

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of two fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM and VIC/HEX at the same time. The technical validation of instruments was performed on Agilent AriaDx, Bio-Rad CFX96 Dx, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, R-Biopharm RIDA®CYCLER and Roche LightCycler® 480 II.
