Intended use:

The multiplex real-time PCR test detects pork (Sus scrofa), chicken (Gallus gallus) and turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) DNA. Each reaction contains an internal amplification control and an internal detection assay for vertebrates DNA (IAAC).

• Sample preparation: For DNA-preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Basic and for highly processed food and feed the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced is recommended.


• LOD (Detection limit): TThe SureFood® ANIMAL ID 4plex Pork/Chicken/Turkey+IAAC real-time PCR is developed for the detection of pork, chicken and turkey DNA in muscle meat mixture at a relative amount of 0.1 %. The assay limit of detection depends on sample matrix, processing grade, DNA preparation and DNA content.

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of four fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM, VIC/HEX, ROX and Cy5 at the same time. The technical verification of instruments was performed on Agilent Mx3005P, Agilent AriaDx, Applied Biosystems 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96, Roche LightCycler® 480 II/ Roche cobas® z 480 Analyzer2 and Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q.
