SureFood® ALLERGEN Mustard

Intended use:

The SureFood® ALLERGEN Mustard is a real-time PCR for the direct, qualitative and / or quantitative detection of specific white mustard (Sinapis alba), indian mustard (Brassica juncea) und black mustard (Brassica nigra) DNA sequences according to directive (EC) 1169/2011. For the quantitative determination the use of the laboratory reference material SureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 (Art. No. S3301) containing 40 mg mustard / kg food sample and a detection system including a standard series is required.

• Sample preparation: For DNA-preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced (Art. No. S1053), protocol 1 or SureFast® Mag PREP Food (Art. No. F1060) is recommended.


• LOD (Detection limit): The SureFood® ALLERGEN Mustard PCR has a limit of detection of = 0.4 mg / kg using SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1.


• LOQ (Limit of quantification): 1 mg / kg using SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of two fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM and VIC/HEX at the same time. The technical verification of instruments was performed on AgilentMx3005P, Agilent AriaDx, Applied Biosystems 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96, LTF MyGo Pro, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, R-Biopharm RIDA®CYCLER, Roche cobas® z 480 Analyzer and Roche LightCycler® 480 II.
