SureFood® ALLERGEN 4plex Macadamia / Brazil Nut / Pecan + IAC

Intended use:

The SureFood® ALLERGEN 4plex Macadamia/Brazil Nut/Pecan + IAC is a multiplex real-time PCR for the direct, qualitative detection and differentiation of specific macadamia (Macadamia ternifolia), brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa) and pecan (Carya illinoinensis) DNA sequences according to directive (EC) 1169/2011.

• Test format: 100 reactions


• Sample preparation: For DNA-preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced (Art. No. S1053), protocol 1 is recommended.


• LOD (Detection limit): The SureFood® ALLERGEN 4plex Macadamia/Brazil Nut/Pecan + IAC PCR has a limit of detection of = 0.4 mg / kg using SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1.


• Cross reactivity:

  For the Pecan real-time PCR system cross reactivity was observed with DNA extracts from shagbark hickory (Carya Ovata).

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of four fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM, VIC/HEX, ROX and Cy5 at the same time. The technical validation of instruments was performed on Agilent Aria Dx, Bio-Rad CFX96 Dx, Roche LightCycler® 480 II and R-Biopharm RIDACYCLER.
