Intended use:

The SureFood® ALLERGEN 4plex EU NUTS is a multiplex real-time PCR for the direct, qualitative detection and differentiation of
  • almond (Prunus dulcis),
  • cashew (Anacardium occidentale),
  • pistachio (Pistacia vera),
  • peanut (Arachis hypogaea),
  • hazelnut (Corylus avellana),
  • walnut (Juglans regia),
  • pecan (Carya illinoinensis),
  • brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa) and
  • macadamia (Macadamia tetraphylla)
ccording to directive (EC) 1169/2011 in food.

Specifications:


  • Test format: 100 reactions

  • Sample preparation: For DNA preparation the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced (Art. No. S1053), protocol 1 or SureFast® Mag PREP Food (Art. No. F1060) is recommended.

  • LOD (Detection limit): The detection limit is = 1 mg allergenic substance / kg food (ppm) using SureFood® PREP Advanced. The LOD was determined using laboratory reference material SureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 (containing 40 mg/kg nuts in a corn flour matrix).

  • Cross reactivity:

    The pecan detection system shows 100% cross reactivity to shagbark hickory (Carya ovata).

General Information:


The real-time PCR assay can be performed with commonly used real-time PCR instruments, equipped for detection of four fluorescence emissions at the channels FAM, VIC/HEX, ROX and Cy5 at the same time. The technical verification of instruments was performed on Agilent AriaDx, Bio-Rad CFX96Dx, R-Biopharm RIDA®CYCLER, Roche LightCycler® 480 II and Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q.
