RIDASCREEN® T-2 Toxin

Intended use:

RIDASCREEN® T-2 Toxin is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative determination of T-2 toxin in cereals and feed.

Specifications:

• Test format: Microtiter plate with 96 wells (12 strips with 8 wells each)


• Sample preparation: Extraction, centrifugation and dilution.


• Incubation time: 1 h 30 min


• LOD (Detection limit): Within detection range 3.5 – 56 µg/kg (ppb): Barley, rye, corn (maize), wheat approx. 7 µg/kg, oats approx.11 µg/kg. Within detection range 35 – 560 µg/kg: Corn (maize), wheat, oats approx. 30 µg/kg


• Validated matrices: Cereals and feed.


• Detection range: 3.5 – 56 µg/kg and 35 – 560 µg/kg


• Detected analyte: T-2 toxin in cereals and feed.


• Evaluation: Microtiter plate spectrophotometer (450 nm)

General Information:

T-2 toxin belongs to the trichothecene group of mycotoxins and is formed by fungi of the genus Fusarium. T-2 toxin is often found in agricultural commodities, although the incidence and the concentrations found show a broad regional variation. Due to its cytotoxic and immunosuppressive mode of action T-2 toxin is a threat for human and animal health.
