Standard Methods requires an initial evaporation step to remove all liquid from the evaporation vessel prior to placing in a 180ºC oven for the final heating cycle. The unique holes in the TDS HotBlock facilitate the opening of the vessels to ensure thorough evaporation of liquid at a temperature below boiling. Vessels can then be easily removed from the block and placed in a rack for transfer to the 180ºC oven.
