The following compounds belong to the avermectines: abamectin, ivermectin, doramectin and eprinomectin. Ivermectin is frequently used to control parasites in many food producing animal species. It is a mixture of two homologues containing not less than 80% 22,23-dihydroavermectin B1a and not more than 20% 22,23-dihydroavermectin B1b.
