These tests are based on the use of chromogens, without any enzyme involved in the reaction.\r\n\r\nThe test principle is that Copper in the sample reacts with DiBr-PAESA [4-(3,5-dibromo-2-pyridylazo)-Nethyl-N-sulfopropylaleine-monosodium salt] under acidic conditions with a reducing agent.
